Volunteering for Local Rescue Groups and Shelters
Palm Beach County has many rescue groups and shelters that are dedicated to helping homeless and abused animals. There are many ways that you can help, whether through volunteering, fostering or donating — or all three!.

Volunteering for Palm Beach Pet Lovers
There are approximately 38 rescue groups in Palm Beach County, and Palm Beach Pet Lovers is dedicated to helping them in their efforts. In addition to partnering with these rescue groups by participating in and co-sponsoring fundraising events, we have made the committment to support and promote them at no cost to their organizations. As you can imagine, this is an enormous undertaking and we can't do it alone — we need your help.
If you have a passion for animal welfare and a desire to make a difference, then we have some fun and rewarding opportunities. From writers and web developers to event photographers and coordinators, our dedicated team will help us realize our animal welfare goals.
- Event volunteers help us with everything from obtaining vendors, food donations, auction items and more to assisting with the set up, break down and staffing of our events. We also welcome volunteers to help staff our booths at local festivals and events. Join the fun and help us help the animals!
- Event photographers help us by being our eyes out in the community by covering a variety of pet-related events that occur throughout Palm Beach County.
- Contributing writers provide informative articles on many current and local topics that pertain to our favorite friends.
- Web Designers help us by keeping the Rescue and Shelter section of our site up-to-date.

Submission Guidelines
Palm Beach Pet Lovers welcomes written and photographic submissions throughout the year. Since we are a free community website and our work is a labor of love, we regret that we are unable to pay at this time. However, we do offer all contributors a bio on the website as well as listing in our 411 Directory. Contributing to Palm Beach Pet Lovers is a wonderful opportunity for new and established writers and photographers to gain additional published clips while helping the animals of our community!
- Writer's guidelines
If you are a writer and would like us to consider your article or feature story idea, please send us a brief query letter outlining your topic, as well as possible interview contacts, any available images (100dpi saved as jpg or gif files), sidebar ideas and any other relevant information. Please provide a brief bio and submit the entire article for review.
All articles must be submitted in Word format as email attachments. We do not accept article submissions via postal mail. Please allow up to four weeks for a reply to your query.

Palm Beach Pet Lovers occasionally features professional photography of adoptable pets on the website.
To submit work to be considered for use, please send up to 5 images as email attachments saved at 100dpi in jpg format. Please include a brief bio as well as captions for photos and any relevant details about the work.
By submitting material to Palm Beach Pet Lovers, you grant Palm Beach Pet Lovers the right to use submitted photos in print, online or via email. Photographers will receive a bio page on the website and photo credits.
